ACCESS THE WEBSITE
To access the Rivers State Court Management Information System (RIVCOMIS) Website;
Open a browser and enter the ‘RIVCOMIS URL’; https://rivcomis.riversstate.gov.ng
ACCOUNTS
All users of the RIVCOMIS platform will have to register with valid personal informations to create an account.
After registration, the user account would be authenticated and activated. This will enable the user to successfully login to the platform and perform various actions.
To login as a court registrar/legal assistant officer:
Step 1: Click ‘Accounts’ on the Login page
Step 2: Enter a valid ‘Email Address’ and ‘Password’
Step 3: Click ‘Sign in’ to successfully access court registrar/legal assistant’s account.
Check ‘Latest Cases’ or ‘Upcoming Cases’ to view the status of cases assigned to your judge
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Enroll Order’
Step 2: Enter the ‘Suit Number’ of the case and click ‘Search’
Step 2: Click ‘Upload Document in pdf Format’ to upload a printed and signed order from your computer.
Step 3: A prompt saying upload was successful will be displayed, Click ‘Ok’ to finish the process.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Hearing Notice’
Step 2: Select ‘Counsel Type’ and enter ‘Suit Number’ of the case and click ‘Search’
Step 3a: Select ‘Party’ and ‘Date of Order’
Step 3b: Click ‘Generate Hearing Notice’
Step 4a: Click ‘Send Notice To Counsel’ to send it to a counsel
Step 4b: A notice will appear stating that the hearing notice has been sent to the counsel. Click ‘Ok’
OR
Step 5a: Click on ‘Print’
Step 5b: Click ‘Print’ to send document to printer and finish the process or you can save as pdf.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Select ‘Type of Filing’ e.g. old cases, returned cases etc by clicking on it, then click ‘Preview’
Step 3: Select type of hearing ‘Physical’ or ‘Virtual’
Step 4: Click to ‘Select Action’ e.g. Mention, Hearing, Plea etc
Step 5: Click ‘Select Action Date’ to set Date and Time
Step 6: Enter ‘Remark’ (optional)
Step 7: Click ‘Set Action’ to successfully set the business
Step 8: A prompt will appear asking if you want to set action, Click ‘Yes’
Step 9: A prompt saying status date has been assigned to the case will then appear, click ‘Ok’ to finish the process.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Select ‘Type of Filing’ e.g. old cases, returned cases etc by clicking on it
Step 3: Click ‘Preview’
Step 4: Click ‘Endorsement’
Step 5: Type in the ‘Endorsement Note’ and click save
Step 6: A notification will appear that endorsement was successfully saved, Click ‘Ok’.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Select ‘Type of Filing’ e.g. old cases, returned cases etc by clicking on it
Step 3: Click ‘Preview’
Step 4: Click ‘Record Proceedings’
Click to view uploaded ‘Defendants Details’
Click the blue tick or red cross icon to record defendant’s presence or absence
Enter ‘Name of Representative’ for the defendant (if available), and click ‘Save’
Type or paste ‘records of proceedings’ in the space provided
Click ‘Continue’ to proceed to the next step
Step 5: A message will display with the information ‘Proceeding Saved’, click OK

Step 6: To print, click on the three dots on the typing page and click on the print icon/image
Step 7: Click on ‘Print’ to print records of proceedings.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click ‘Preview’
Step 3: Click on ‘Select Type of Document to Upload’
Step 4: Click on ‘Upload Record of Proceedings’ or ‘Upload Rulings’ or ‘Upload Judgment’ or ‘Upload Order’
Step 5: Type in the ‘Title of the Document’
Step 6: Click to upload the document in PDF format only
Step 7: You will get a notification that the file has been uploaded, Click ‘Ok’.
HOW TO CHECK CAUSE LIST
Step 1: On your dashboard, click on ‘Cause List’
Step 2: Click on ‘Daily Cause List’ to view the daily cause list and ‘Weekly Cause List’ to view the weekly cause list.
HOW TO UPLOAD CAUSE LIST
Step 1: On your dashboard, click on ‘Upload Cause List’
Step 2: Download the cause list in excel format. You can also download as CSV, print or copy the cause List
Step 3: Click on ‘Upload Document in Excel Format’ to upload the cause list
Step 4: A prompt will appear, click ‘Ok’ to finish the process.
HOW TO UPLOAD EXHIBIT TENDERED (ADMITTED OR REJECTED)
Step 1: On your dashboard, click on ‘Exhibit Tendered’
Step 2: Enter ‘Suit No’ and click ‘Search’
Step 3: Enter ‘Name of Exhibit’
Step 4: Select ‘Type of Exhibit’
Step 5: Click on ‘Upload (mp3, mp4, pdf and jpg) only’
Step 6: You will get a notification that the file has been uploaded, Click ‘Ok’.
HOW TO GET YOUR RETURNS
Step 1: On your dashboard, click on ‘Returns’
Step 2: Select ‘Case Type’ and ‘Filter Status’ i.e. daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly
Step 3: Enter ‘Suit Number’.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click ‘Preview’
Step 3: Click ‘Add Witness’
Step 4: Enter the necessary information and click ‘Save’. (N/B to add more than one witness click on the green plus icon)
Step 5: You will get a notification that the witness has been successfully added, Click ‘Ok’.
HOW TO VIEW LIS PENDENS CERTIFICATES
Step 1: On your dashboard, Click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click on ‘Lis Pendens’
Step 3: The certificate will appear, click on ‘print’
Step 4: Click on Print again to send it to the printer and finish the process or you can save as pdf.
HOW TO VIEW CASE FILES
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click ‘Preview’ on that particular suit
Step 3: Click on ‘Case Files”
Step 4: Click on ‘Writ/Charge’, ‘Case Files’, ‘Defence’, ‘List of Application Filed’ etc to view the documents filed under them.
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click ‘Preview’
Step 3: Click ‘Case Files’
Step 4: Scroll down and click on ‘Download all Processes’.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD APPLICATIONS
Step 1: On your dashboard, click ‘Filings’
Step 2: Click ‘Preview’
Step 3: Click ‘Case Files’
Step 4: Click on ‘List of Application Filed’
Step 5: A list of the applications filed will appear, click on ‘View Files’ for the application you wish to view
Step 6: The documents filed under that application will appear, click ‘Download Applications’.
